Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 1) vehicle was designed and delivered with this defect. accelerator sticks when traveling over 50 mph. 2) no accident has occurred yet. the fault was first noticed when towing a trailer on the thruway. coming up on a slower vehicle, i took my foot off the accelerator expecting the vehicle to slow. the vehicle kept on at the same speed as if the cruise control was engaged. i had to apply brakes to slow the vehicle. i have clocked the accelerator sticking between 5 to 20 seconds before the engine rpm's begin to drop. 3) toyota refuses to make any corrections as their factory rep says this is normal operation. the vehicle has been in to the dealer 2 times on this defect. *nm |
