Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Transmission would repeatedly rev as if in neutral gear while driving in 4th or 5th gear at or above 30-50 mph. luckily no accidents/injuries. had complained to dealer twice previously about a burning smell coming from the transmission but no problems found and car was still drivable at that time. failure occurred at around 88,000 miles. entire transmission needed to be replaced. seems to be a problem common with other acura mdx 2001-2002 model years once the car is above 75,000 miles but acura does not acknowledge it. *jb |
