| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The hitch was on a dodge ram 2003 4x4 truck. the trailer was a ragin 29' toy hauler camper weighing 7000lbs. the truck was involved in a collision that resulted in the hitch being separated from the truck. the truck sustaining minimal damage. the engine compartment was not involved and the airbags did not deploy. upon the initial impact the hitch was separated at the welds from the vehicle. the bolts and the parts of the hitch that were above the welds were still connected to the frame. the chains, sway bars, and safety brake switch were ineffective as the hitch was separated upon impact. the trailer then hit the back of the truck. *jb |
