| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I own a 1999 chevrolet tahoe. it has a severe brake problem. sometimes when you are going under 40 and step on the brakes the abs seems to activate making a loud noise and the vehicle does not want to stop unless you stand on the brakes and then it stops slowly. i had a complete brake job done and it didn't get any better even though i took it back 2 more times. while i was on the internet trying to find a site that might be able to tell me what was wrong i ran across a site called www.ohiolemonlaw.com. they listed my vehicle model and year as having a recall for exactly the problem i was having. i then checked with gm and my local chevrolet dealership and they were both aware of the problem and the recall but said my vehicle's vin was not included in the recall. if there was a recall on the 1999 tahoe for exactly the same problem as my 1999 tahoe then i feel that my vehicle should be covered under that recall. i also looked under the nhtsa site and found a recall campaign number 05v379000 for exactly the same problem i am having. please let me know what my options are. my vin # is [xxx] and i am the original owner thank you. *nm updated 07/16/2012 *js information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) |
