| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Dt*: the contact stated while driving the tailgate cables frayed completely causing the tailgate to fall off. damage was incurred to the tailgate and to the bumper of the vehicle. the dealer and manufacturer have been alerted and agreed the vehicle was included in nhtsa recall, # 04e067000, concerning tailgate cables. however, both refuse to repair the vehicle without charge. the tailgate latches also failed when a piece of equipment that was located in the bed of the truck slid hitting the tailgate. the teeth on the latching mechanism fractured, causing this failure. *ak |
