Description of the Complaints:
I have a 2001 gmc yukon slt, and i have had an abs issue. i heard a constant running sound, even when the vehicle is not running. narrowed it down to the abs, and had to pull the fuse to stop it. now my brake & abs lights are constantly illuminated. the dealers will not fix it, just replace them. which is around a grand to do. since there is no recall outside the "salt belt" states they won't help us. i've found someone in the area with the same problem. i research it online, and see it appears to be an common safety problem. there is a recall out, but does not apply here in fort walton beach, florida. in which were are on the coast an subject to salt waters of the gulf coast. i've noticed it on nhtsa campaign id # 05v379000. it affects "salt belt" states of connecticut, delaware, illinois, indiana, iowa, maryland, massachusetts, maine, michigan, minnesota, missouri, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, ohio, pennsylvania, rhoda island, vermont, west virginia, wisconsin and the district of columbia only.... please extend recall area for other locations that have the same problem. maybe coastal areas, etc. *nm
