| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I am contacting you in regards to my children's car seats. i have twin 2 1/2 year olds that are physically capable of climbing out of the evenflo tribute car seats. they simply push the lap belt down and climb out. it isn't because i have children with abnormal abilities, it is happening because any child within the same age span could easily do the same. i contacted evenflo with my complaint and received an e-mail stating that i need to teach my children they must be fastened safely in their seats before the vehicle will move. my children understand that and they are always safely fastened upon departure. they crawl out when they are tired or frustrated and that usually happens while traveling 55 mph on a busy road. today we were traveling in heavy rain and they crawled out and were climbing around with vehicle in motion. i feel like they should be so snuggly fit in their seats that climbing out isn't possible. i guess i could do what most people would do and just keeping driving around with them always taking the belt off, but i can't risk that! my conscience is telling me to buy another brand/seat, but i don't think that is fair to ask the consumer to do so. i only need them for 6 more months. i noticed on the evenflo website that the same type of car sear "evenflo tribute" had been recalled. it is not the same model number as mine, but am wondering what the previous cause was. i would greatly appreciate any suggestions that you have to offer. i am extremely frustrated and i feel that i am fighting a battle that any mother should not have to argue. small children should not be able to remove themselves from their car seats. i feel certain that if an accident were to occur i would be considered at fault for not having them in their seats. where is the liability for the manufacturer to make sure that children are not able to remove themselves from their car seat? again, i think you for your time and look forward to a response.
