| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I own a new 2006 corvette coupe. on july 5th i began to develop a creaking sound near the roof frame and i began to notice wind noise at 60 mph. on july 7th, my painted (victory red) roof panel separated from it's frame. fortunately it did not blow off while driving and no one was hurt. the fact that gm is/has been aware of the problem and has not issued a recall for all '05/'06 coupes is unbelievable. my dealer has been great to work with but his hands are tied by gm. the painted roofs are backordered until late august and no alternative was offered by gm. in order to be able to use my $50k car, it was necessary for me to purchase a transparent roof. that is not the way to treat loyal customers (this is my 4th vette). is gm waiting for a motorcylce rider to be decapitated before they issue a recall? *nm |
