Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: This is a supplement to an earlier complaint, odi #10161327. there is a whine in the drive train at 53 to 63 mph. above or below that speed range there is no whine. the dealer acknowledges there is a whine, but says all regular cab tacomas with a manual 5 speed transmission have that whine and that it is not a problem. (they don't have to listen to it!) other tacoma models (with automatic transmissions) do not whine, only those with manual transmissions, according to this dealer. if this is true, there must be a defect somewhere in the drive train. i think they are stonewalling me and feeding me a bunch of bull. they also tell me that if i want a resolution to the problem, i must talk to someone at the regional level. so far, i've been unable to find out how to reach them. i'm still working on that. woe is me! i should have stayed with nissan. *nm |
