Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Soon after new vehicle purchase in 1/04, cruise control periodically became inoperative. i do know if the brake lights were also inoperative. dealer could not duplicate the malfunction and did not diagnose a problem. this problem occurred approximately 5 times over the next 2.5 years. recently, the cruise control became inoperative again, as well as the rear brake lights. i took the vehicle to the dealer and informed them that a recall had been issued, though i had not received a recall notice from gm. i presented the dealer with a printout of the nhtsa recall information. dealer stated that there was no recall for my vehicle, and since my warranty had expired, i would have to pay for repairs. repair consisted of replacement of the brake light switch. the total cost of the repair was $175.04. i'm not sure if this has any connection, but the vehicle was inspected just prior to expiration of the warranty. one week later, and after expiration of the warranty, the battery died and required replacement. *jb
