Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: My motorcycle has had hard shifting problems since it was purchased in january 1999. the gears clanged very loud and i was always told by the dealers that this was normal for this motorcycle. the problem has progressed to the point where it pops out of 2nd,3rd and sometimes 4th gears. when this occurs i have already started to accelerate in the next gear so when it pops out the "drag" causes the forks to compress and my body to be thrown forward. this happened to me once time with a passenger on the back so i had her body getting thrown against mine an almost lost control of the motorcycle. i have contacted the dealer and was told that i would have to commit to a tear down of the transmission at my expense. upon inspection if it was found that it was caused by normal wear and tear that i would have to pay for the repairs. *nm |
