| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2006 acura mdx with 12000 mi has a ppg (windshield manufacture) windshield defect. windshield has a 20 inch (hook shape) edge crack from passenger side starting from the first two inches of the perimeter. probably cause is "residual stress" and "induce stress" due to installation or design flaw. both are manufacture defects. acura dealer refused to investigate and replace windshield defect. service manager claimed that it was a 140 mph impact. if that was true, the whole windshield would of been shattered. fact is, the point of impact is the size of a pencil tip. prior to discovering the crack, there is no apparent or obvious debris impact. actually, my wife was sitting in the passenger side the whole time until the crack started and nothing had struck the windshield. please investigate this issue. possible link to honda element's same issues. after all, honda makes acura. *nm |
