| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I opened back rear lift glass and it made a very strange noise. i closed it then noticed it was not sitting straight so i opened it again to see what the problem was. when i tried to close it again it would not lock and then one hinge holding the glass on just broke and then the glass was only held on by one hinge and was completely crooked. i contacted gmc dealer and they said $1,100.00 repair because they had to repair the whole glass plus the hinges. i found out that a couple other people in my small area had the same problem and then i found somewhere on this website there had been 3 more complaints about it. when i spoke with gmc they said it wasn't anything i did and it wasn't due from wear and tear that it just broke. apparently the part that broke on mine was the welding came off. i think if an investigation is started that gmc will find out there are a lot more people in this country who have had the same problem. *jb |
