Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: While driving, it is becoming more common for the transmission to pop-out of gear and into a sort of neutral state. typically it is expected while shifting into third gear. it is most likely to occur under heavy acceleration (approx 80 % of shifts). the popping out of gear first occurred shortly after purchase (october 2000), and has developed into a more common incidence. as the condition worsens, it occurs even under mild acceleration (approx 10 % of shifts). i am very concerned about a failure in traffic that will cause an accident. instances, such as crossing a busy street, or entering a freeway have been unsettling. it is my hope that the manufacture will propose a transmission fix/recall before this kills riders. *jb |
