Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Much to my dismay, i discovered last week, that my new $16000, 2006 yamaha motorcycle, model xvz13, heavy touring cruiser, is not equipped, from the factory, with "hazard warning flashers". after encountering heavy fog for over 80 miles, i wished to turn on my 4-way flashers for safety purposes. there is none on this motorcycle, as it is sold in the usa. the manufacturer, yamaha motor corporation usa, apparently chose to eliminate the "hazard warning flasher" switch on this particular model, replacing the normal switch, as used on similar models, with a "cruise control" switch. this is a huge oversight from yamaha, and creates a big safety problem, in case of a roadside hazardous condition, such as flat tire, emergency conditions, etc. i have always assumed that us laws called for vehicle and street motorcycles be factory equipped with this simple device? please clarify the current regulations for me, and if this is a required item, yamaha motors should be contacted immediately. *jb |
