Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Dt*: the contact stated while driving 55 mph on the highway, a very loud noise was heard and then a vast amount of smoke came from the rear of the engine. the engine stalled suddenly without warning. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who determined there was a piston and rod problem resulting in a crack in the engine block; the engine would need to be replaced. there were no problems with the engine prior to this incident. the contact maintained routine oil changes as needed. the dealership was aware of the problem.
