| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2001 silverado z71 5.3l -- the gas gauge works only intermittently and often shows wrong fuel level. i have talked to my mechanic and he says that this is a common problem and a costly one to fix. i use my tripometer to estimate how much fuel i have but if the fuel mileage changes, as with towing, it is not reliable. i have run out of fuel and been stranded on more than one occasion. *jb |
