| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2005 dodge neon sxt. car will roll on a driveway if placed on 4th gear. i parked my car on my mom's driveway which is elevated at an angle. i thought i had placed the gear in reverse. instead, i inadvertently placed it on fourth gear which is right next to reverse. when my kids were getting in the car, the car started to roll backwards. luckily, nobody was injured. it was possible that someone could have gotten hurt if they were behind the car. the parking brake could not hold the weight of that car. the manufacturer did specify to put the car in reverse when parking the car. however, they should have emphasized on the owner's manual that putting the car in fourth gear will not hold the car in gear if parked on an incline. i hope that the manufacturer will advise other owners about this before someone gets injured or die. *nm |
