Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: My wife was driving our 2005 honda odyssey lx van and it died on the highway. she was able to coast to the side, get it to start one more time and limp into a parking lot(it died at the entrance of the lot). the vehicle was towed to the dealer and they looked at it and could not duplicate the problem. it was presumed that it was possible bad gas, or a 1 time glitch. i was told i could pick the vehicle back up. not feeling comfortable with putting my wife and 1 yr old son back in the vehicle, i drove it 30 miles until the problem duplicated again. it died on a country road. i was told to wait a little bit and try and drive it in, it died several more times before finally dying on a bridge and needing a tow. after a few days the problem was finally tracked down to a faulty fuel pump relay. i was told this part was on national backorder which leads me to believe there may be more cars out there with this problem. if this occurs in the city during a left hand turn, it could have deadly results. i also wonder if this was related the fuse recall (my van was not included in the fuse recall). i am awaiting the part to arrive and be installed. *jb |
