Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Potential for failure: on aug 15, 2006, i purchased a set of 4 goodyear weather handler tires from a national chain store. on examining these tires, i saw that 3 were made in 2006 and 1 in 2004. (date codes: mdxo wkhr 2806 - 2; mdxo wkhr 2106 - 1; and mkxo wkhr 4304.) the rubber on the 2004 tire does not feel as "live" as the rubber on the 2006 tires. i am concerned that this will adversely affect the handling and traction balance of the car. the 2004 tire is already 40% into the aging cycle. i have requested the store to replace the 2004 tire--for the reasons given here. they are not responding to my request. i would like to know what guidelines the nhtsa has ( or recommends ) for a situation like this--where the tires in the replacement set are not of the same age. thank you for your assistance in this matter. *jb
