Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Dt*: the contact stated while driving 7 mph on normal road conditions, there was no braking action when trying to stop. no warning lights were illuminated to alert the driver. the vehicle was taken to the dealership who indicated the antilock brake system (abs) had a recall # 05v379000 regarding service brakes, hydraulic:antilock, for those vehicles due to a speed sensor failure. all vehicles operated in salt belt states may be affected. the manufacturer was contacted, and indicated the vehicle was not included in the recall due to the vin, and the company was not responsible for the repair cost. the speed sensor, which was the affected component of the abs, was manufactured in the same plant for all general motors vehicles. the contact expressed concern because a copy of the complaint taken back in august was never received.
