Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I have a 2000 ford expedition that when driving, as soon as the low fuel light comes on, the engine shuts off. i had several occasions when i am less than a mile from a gas station, and the truck has trouble making it to the gas station. there are several instances when my suv is parked up hill and it has more than a quarter tank of gas, and it has a hard time starting. i have to put it on neutral, let it roll backwards and put it on level surface before it can start again. recently it has started shutting off when i drive, with a reasonable amount of fuel. also the service engine has come on, it runs rough. i have performed all maintenance services on this suv. on several occasions, i have come close to getting rear ended and or getting stranded. i also own a gmc truck, and when the low fuel light comes on, i can still drive this truck for more than 15 miles. i have performed all maintenance services on this vehicle, and it has not shut off on me ever. this is a comparison only. i am taking my 2000 ford expedition to get scanned for problem codes tomorrow and find out what the problems are. i just wanted to know if there are or have been complaints of this nature, and if there is , why has ford not made an announcement. *nm
