| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle burst into flames after being parked for 30 mins. the fire department was contacted, and extinguished the fire which occurred in the engine compartment. the vehicle had problems starting, and stalled intermittently prior to the incident. the vehicle was restarted and stalled again. it was restarted and driven to a residence, where it stalled a third time. the contact went inside the residence, and within 30 mins, heard a loud pop, and noticed flames coming out of the front wheel wells. no injuries were sustained, and a police report was taken. the type of fire was unknown. the police had the vehicle towed to a garage, and was deemed a total loss. the contact planned to contact the manufacturer after filing a complaint with the nhtsa. the contact noticed 4 other complaints of the same make and model, who had the same scenario. |
