| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I own a 2001 infiniti qx4. the factory clarion/bose cd head unit is registering an error code "err 2" and the cd's won't play or eject. this is the second time in 3 years this has happened. the first time it was covered under warranty. now, clarion won't accept the unit directly from the customer and requires a dealer to repair/install through clarion. i believe this to be fraud. if you search online for qx4 or pathfinder and "err 2" you will discover that this is a widespread problem among qx4/pathfinder owners. this unit should be recalled, but nissan and/or clarion are to date refusing to take responsibility for this manufacturing defect or correcting the source problem. this practice is creating artificial demand for a repair service that does nothing but guarantee repeat repair service in the future. my existing unit is labeled "remanufactured" in the rear, and i assume it was previously repaired for the same reason. i want a replacement without charge. *nm |
