Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: 2002 trailblazer with approx. 34,000 miles; purchased new. as i was driving. there was a loud, violent clunk from under the car. i was able to coast around a corner and into the right lane of another street. after waiting for over an hour for a tow truck, i was forced to drive the car (slowly) about 1/4 mile into a large parking lot. the entire time i was driving, there was a loud whining noise. when i tried to back up the car, there was no reverse gear. the tow truck driver took me and the car to a chevrolet dealer. the service person called me a short time later to say the sun shield was broken, and repairs would be a minimum of $1800, possibly more if additional problems were found once the transmission was pulled. even though there are only 34,000 miles on the car, he advised that it was 1-1/2 years past the time portion of the warranty. my car is still at the dealership until i can do more research into the apparently widespread problem with this car. *nm
