Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I would like to go on record as referring the following to nhtsa regarding a recall for my infiniti. i received in the mail from infiniti a recall regarding a fuel filler hose crack. the fuel filler and vapor hoses are to be replaced at the dealer. i live where there is no infiniti dealer but there is a nissan dealer. i contacted the nissan dealer and they said they were aware of the recall and had the parts and can perform the necessary repairs, but can't do it without infiniti approval and authorization. i then called infiniti and they say even though there is a potential fire possibility with my car they will not authorize a nissan dealer to do the repairs. we live 200 miles, 3 hours from the nearest infiniti dealer and will not make that trip, fuel and overnight expenses (as per their recall notice they will require the car for more than 3 hours) for the sole purpose of these repairs. it's hard to believe that nissan america would put a customer of theirs life at risk for the cost of these repairs. as you know, there's no infiniti listed in the vehicle lists on your site, they're listed as nissan america, yet they won't let their own nissan dealership perform safety repairs on their own infiniti automobiles. *nm |
