Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Driving 2000 toyota tundra in northern wyoming 1 week ago during freezing temps. engine shut down shortly after starting in the morning leaving driver with no power to maneuver in traffic. vehicle sits in traffic until idle speed will move vehicle out of way of other cars. this has happened before when vehicle sits out all night in freezing cold weather. car taken to dealer each time and we are told this happens on this v-8 engine for tundra and land cruiser mfg 1999. dealer has other vehicles in for repair at this time and says he replaces several each year. dealer says intake manifold must be replaced with corrected manifold. dealer believes the problem is in the electrical circuit attached to the manifold. cost is to be approx $1400. dealer says to take up problem with toyota corp. *nm |
