Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I own a 2004 gmc sierra 2500 crew cab pickup with 59,000 miles. in the last 4 months the speedometer has been giving incorrect readings, i.e. 70 mph when stopped, 115 when doing 40 mph etc. on occasion, it either doesn't work at all, or the needle is fully pegged. there is no way to tell how fast this vehicle is going. gmc customer service has stated that they can provide no financial assistance for the $320 repair because "they cannot make a business case for it." gmc refuses to acknowledge that this is a pervasive problem throughout many of their vehicles in this model year despite ample documentation of the problem easily found at auto repair websites on the internet. additionally, previous complaints of this exact nature and exact vehicle have been filed with nhtsa. *jb |
