Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Engine races when shifting from 4th to 5th gear. engine rpm may go as high as 3,000 rpms. 2006 toyota tacoma access cab 4 cylinder 4-wheel drive. manufacturer say this is an emission procedure. it's o.k. to shift the transmission and let the clutch out while the engine is fee winding. even the toyota mechanics at my local dealer says this is wrong it will ruin the clutch eventually. i paid cash for this vehicle.......and toyota just as soon get rid of me rather than fix the problem. i will do everything in my power to give toyota all the free publicity i can on every forum there is on the net. i have proof from the dealer that this is not normal and toyota says to it;s customer.....bugger off. we got your money. and your right i do have stupid written on my forehead. *jb |
