Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I was driving along at 50 mph in 5th gear. the shifter came out of gear. i pulled over shut off the engine restarted it and tried to get the transmission in 1st gear with no success. had the vehicle towed to the dealership. dealership is advising that the clutch is completely worn out and they want $2,000.00 to fix it. the vehicle is just one years old and only 12,000 miles. i do not down shift, ride the clutch or dump the clutch. we have spoken to many transmission specialist and they have informed us that it is impossible to destroy and clutch in only 12,000 miles and one year of driving. they advise that the pressure plate was faulty from the factory. *jb
