Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Unintended acceleration 5 times over the past 2 years when stopping, usually when going downhill. has become more frequent. for the first three incidents just stomping on the brake sufficed to get the engine to stop racing. the last two incidents, in the past 2 weeks, were (1) in a parking lot when going from drive to reverse to drive to maneuver into a parking spot and (2) at a stop light. in the parking lot, turning the engine off and back on stopped the racing. this last incident was the most serious. i turned the engine off, waited ~15 seconds, turned it back on and the engine raced again. turned it off again, waited about a minute, all was ok. the dealer cannot find any reason for these failures. *nm |
