Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: While leaving for our christmas trip, i noticed that it seemed that traffic was traveling a lot faster than usual. when i pulled off the highway, much to my surprise, my speedometer was stuck at a minimum speed of 76 mph!! since then, the speedometer continues to get stuck at various speeds and i have no idea how fast or slow i am going at any given time. this is very dangerous!! my gmc yukon is only 3 years old and has 61000 miles on it. i contacted the dealer and was told that it would cost anywhere from $600-800 est to fix the problem plus rental car for the days that the whole dash of my car was sent out to be reconditioned. the service tech mentioned that this was a common problem and sometimes it took more to rectify the situation. he also mentioned that other instruments could be failing on the dash. this is a very serious and dangerous repair problem and should be repaired at no cost to the consumer. i have found hundreds of posts on the internet on the issue and no ownership of the problem by gm. something needs to be done!! i drive children in this vehicle everyday and their safety should not be compromised in this manner. for the amount of money i spent on this vehicle and the short length of time that i have had it, there should not be such a serious issue. something needs to be done immediately!! *jb
