Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Tl* - the contact has a 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo. the contact received a recall for this vehicle on 10/11/2006 and on september 1, 2006, several hours after having a full service check up for a broken b seat belt the contact was driving on the interstate at 75 mph and the electric radiator fan blade separated and went through the radiator. the contact stated that this caused the engine to overheat, cracking the engine's head, and seizing the engine. the contact stated that everything happened instantly, causing the vehicle to suddenly begin smoking and lose power, even thought the contact was accelerating. the contact stated that the steering column locked, and the vehicle was able to coast to a stop, and later had it towed. the contact stated that the weather was in the 100 degrees on that day. she paid $2100 to repair the vehicle , and that the dealership wanted to settle with her for $700. *ak |
