Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Tl* - the contact owns a 2002 jeep liberty. the contact received recall letter 06v288000 for lower ball joints in october 2006. the contact called the dealer to schedule an appointment and was advised that they didn't have the parts. the contact left the information with the dealer to call him, and after five weeks there was no response. the contact called daimler chrysler, and was told that he could file a complaint ,and was informed that they didn't have the ball joints. the contact was concerned about the safety risk involved as stated in the recall. water may enter and cause ball joint separation. the contact could lose steering control, which may result in a crash. daimler chrysler advised him to make an appointment. also, the contact was concerned about driving it in the rain with the safety risk involved, per the recall. in addition, the contact experienced tightness in the steering when he was making a sharp right hand turn. *ak updated 1/31/2007 - *nm
