Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: The "service airbag" light illuminated on my dash and i took my vehicle to the dealer that i bought it from. it was determined that a part would be needed to fix this problem (sir coil) and that my vehicle warranty would cover this issue. once the correct part reached the dealership, i took my vehicle to get fixed. the dealership called me in the middle of working on my vehicle to notify me that there was some mistake and that the work being done actually cost me about $800.00. i had the dealership stop work on my vehicle and called the chevy customer service number to further inquire about this safety issue. (the dealership told me that they could not guarantee that my airbag would deploy if i needed it due to the sir coil needing to be replaced.) i had a few conversations with a chevrolet customer service representative who finally informed me that "they couldn't help me at this time" and that "this service would not be covered under warranty" and "to save my receipts for repair". i have not yet had this problem fixed. i do not have the extra $800.00 to spend on this repair that i believe is a tremendous safety issue. one of the reasons i purchased this vehicle was because of the presence of airbags. this malfunction was due to no fault of my own and i haven't gotten anywhere with the manufacture. i have been dealing with this issue for several months now. *jb
