Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: This complaint is regarding a 2003 honda accord ex v6 coupe and its automatic transmission. after a year of owning the vehicle i was informed that there was a recall on the transmission and there could be a potential problem with the 2nd gear and that's why a recall was instated. my honda dealership changed a part in the transmission that would ensure the 2nd gear was well lubricated to prevent chipping and destruction of the 2nd gear. however, two years later, in september 2006 that is exactly what occurred. my second gear was faulty and chipped/cracked and required replacement of the transmission. the car would not shift into gear and almost caused a major accident because it occurred while i was driving on the highway. i was forced to replace the transmission and pay out of my pocket because my warranty was up. *jb |
