Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Speedometer frequently registers the incorrect speed or on occasions, no speed at all. speed indicated may be significantly higher or lower than actual speed. i frequently have had to rely on a gps to determine actual speeds. relying on the speedometer i have seen the speed indicated at 55 mph when actual speed was about 80 mph. shutting off the vehicle and restarting it will cause the speedometer to reset approximately 5 mph slower. this will have to be repeated until the needle reaches 0 mph. once reset the speedometer will typically operate normally for some random period of time. *nm
