Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Tl* - the contact owns a 2002 jeep liberty. the contact received a recall notice on october 4, 2006. the contact traveled 90 miles one way, and he told the dealer that the vehicle wasn't driving normally. the contact replaced 2 sets of tires ,and had several alignments, which had been unsuccessful in correcting the steering failure. the contact was placed on a waiting list. the contact called the dealer on several occasions to follow up and schedule an appointment. however, he was advised that there was no waiting list, and after several attempts, including calling the manufacturer an appointment was scheduled. the contact received a call from the dealer stating the appointment was cancelled, and the parts were on back order when speaking with a different mechanic. he was told the parts were at the dealer and to bring the vehicle in for repair on the following day. the contact received a voice mail the day before his scheduled appointment stating that the parts were on back order. the vehicle wasn't steering properly, and hadn't driven normally for quite some time. the contact stated the speed wasn't a factor, after driving 5 miles or more the vehicle did not steer properly. the current and failure mileage were both 58000.*ak |
