Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Tl*-the contact stated that the 2006 lexus gs300, front passenger and driver side doors extended too far. the door was long and heavy, and that the top bolts on the front doors were inadequate for the weight and length of the doors. the contact stated that the top hinge separated from the body of the vehicle, and he felt that the service load on the door was defective. the contact took the vehicle back to the dealership, and was informed that he was responsible for the door opening too far. the contact took the vehicle to the dealership on two occasions. the first time he had to pay for the repairs which cost $506.00 and the replacement of the hinge and they alignment of the door. the contact stated that after the repair he opened the passenger door and tried to close the door and it wouldn't close. he noticed that the hinge had separated from the body of the vehicle. the contact took the vehicle back to the dealership, and they replaced the hinge for free, with a disclaimer stating that they would not be responsible for any other repairs for the driver or passenger front doors. the failure mileage was 1,472, and the current mileage was 8,500.*ak update 4/23/07*tr
