Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I have a 2001 gmc yukon slt, and i have had an abs problem, although there was not one specific instance, which caused it. i heard a constant running sound, even when the vehicle was not running. narrowed it down to the abs, and had to pull the fuse to stop it. now, my brake & abs lights constantly illuminated. it had me at a disadvantage. i am a father of 2, and we often transport our parents. generally do most traveling in the yukon, but now apprehensive about the idea of it. do not want to subject the family to such. i deploy a lot, and don't want my wife to drive it in this condition. i tried to take it to the gmc dealers awhile back. the dealers will not fix it, just replaced them. which was around a grand to do. since there was no recall outside the salt belt states they won't help us. i found someone in the area with the same problem. i researched it online, and it appeared to be an common safety problem. there was a recall, but it did not apply here in fort walton beach, florida. in which were are on the coast subject to salt waters of the gulf coast. i noticed it on recall nhtsa campaign id # 05v379000. it affected salt belt states of connecticut, delaware, illinois, indiana, iowa, maryland, massachusetts, maine, michigan, minnesota, missouri, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, ohio, pennsylvania, rhode island, vermont, west virginia, wisconsin and the district of columbia only.... please extend recall area for other locations that have the same problem. maybe coastal areas, etc. *ak
