Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: We left home and drove about 8 miles to meet some relatives for dinner. when we arrived at our destination, there was no smoke, noise or even a smell coming from the car. about 15 minutes later, a man came running into the restaurant yelling "somebody's car is on fire!" one of the restaurant employees put out the fire. the only damage was to the engine compartment so we did a buy back from our insurance company thinking we would be able to buy some salvage parts to put the car back together. it has been 13 months now and we still have not been able to find all the parts in salvage. my assumption is that there are so many of these fires nationwide that when a salvage yard gets good engine compartment parts for these cars, that they are sold very quickly! *jb
