| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Hvac blend doors broken in a position such that only cold air blows from system. this allows for no defrost of any of the front windows posing a significant hazard during winter travel. this is the second of this body style grand cherokee (99-04) i have owned, and both vehicles experienced the same failure between 50k and 60k miles. the first vehicle (1999) was repaired by heritage chrysler jeep in ozark, mo for about $1300.00. the second vehicle (2001) has just experienced the same problem over last winter and is now in need of repair. i believe that this condition exists due to a poor design from the manufacturer and that the threat involved from potential limited visibility in the winter, coupled with the significant cost of repair and safety concerns, warrants a recall. *jb |
