Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I bought a 2005 chevrolet malibu april 6, 2006 with 17,000 miles. in october of 2006 with 31,500 miles the steering was making terrible popping noises. the dealer replaced the steering rack and the problem went away for a few months. at 41,000 miles i again had to have the steering rack replaced, this time gm covered it as a "goodwill" gesture. now, at 54,000 miles, the steering is making the same noise again. it can't be safe to drive. three steering racks in 20,000 miles is pretty excessive. *jb |
