| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Tl*-the contact was driving on a snowy day at 20 mph and the oil light started to blink rapidly on the dashboard of her 1993 honda accord. she pulled off the road and found that there was no oil in the vehicle. the contact put in four quarts of oil and notice a leak. about an hour after the incident she check the oil again and found that it was empty again. she poured another quart of oil in the vehicle and drove it to a mechanic shop half a block away and they told her it was the balance shaft seal needed to be replaced that this was a common problem on hondas manufactured during the same period. the repair cost $750.00. honda stated that this failure was not a under recall. the contact believes that if the failure is a known manufacturing defect and the manufacturer should be responsible. *jb |
