Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Purchased a new 2006 honda odyssey ex-l with res and nav in july 2006 in new jersey (planet honda). twice i noticed on very cold mornings (outside temperature was around 10 degrees fahrenheit at 9:30 am) that after starting the engine the air-bag indicator light came on and would not go away. after driving around for 10 minutes (with the air bag indicator light still on) i switched off the engine and restarted the engine after 5 minutes. this time the air-bag indicator light did not stay on. i brought this problem to the dealers attention. they had a look and concluded that the side impact sensor was malfunctioning (part number 77970-shj-b81). they have ordered two numbers ??? how can this be ? this is a brand new minivan with only 5000 miles on it and no collisions not even the least minor ones what so ever. seems there are some gaps and quality control issues in honda's manufacturing process now that this minivan is entirely being built in usa. i am just plain lucky that the air-bag (whether side or frontal, i don't know) did not inflate in my face. *nm
