Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The airbag light on my 2004 chrysler sebring convertible came one. taking it to the dealer, they indicated the driver's side seat belt pre-tensioner needed to be replaced. it had already been replaced once before under warranty. the dealer stated that the car was 3 months out of warranty that it would be my responsibility to replace it. when i balked, the dealer "gave" me the part and charged me for the labor. i followed up with chrysler indicating that i felt this was a recurring safety related defect and as such, they should fix it for free. i was told that the free part was all the "goodwill" gesture that i would receive. the car currently has less than 14,000 miles on it and a component of the safety restrain system has already failed twice. chrysler does not seem to be concerned, so i am filing a complaint with the nhtsa as i feel that this is not an isolated occurrence. *jb |
