Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2000 ford excursion, cruise control recall performed in dec, 2006. on 11 jan ,2007 smoke coming from engine compartment. unplugged brake switch at master cylinder, connector was plastic and had brake fluid dripping from it. pulled 20 amp fuse from fuse panel, smoke stopped. the main concern is that ford performed recall(installed fuse jumper) but did not replace switch, when brake fluid leaked through switch, fusible link modification failed to protect electrical system. i am concerned that others that have had this recall performed are still in danger. this is not my vehicle, it is my cousins. he is not sure if he will file a complaint or not so i thought i needed to. i am a witness to the whole incident and can provide more info and pictures if needed. *jb |
