Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2001 honda accord v6 sedan with approximately 26,000miles (i drive it to work and grocery shopping within a 10 mile area.) we were driving at about 20 mi per hour behind an suv that was behind a garbage truck that was stopping at every corner. when the garbage truck stopped as did the suv the next time - we were almost 2 car lengths behind -my husband put his foot on the brake but the car did not stop. we heard a whirring noise and the car lunged forward at incredible speed hitting the rear of the suv. at that point the garbage truck moved on and the suv disappeared quickly around the next corner. damage to my car - dented hood, cracked grill and cracked bumper. something similar happened 2 years ago. i had barely started the car, was leaving for work when a red light came up on the dash. i put my foot on the brake and instead of stopping the car lunged forward at incredible speed and plowed into the rear of my neighbors parked truck (his truck was barely two doors down from my house. the "lunging" is not the result of careless driving - something is amiss between the brakes and the acceleration. i have driven only hondas since 1986. *nm |
