Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: It is widely known that the 1st and 2nd generation yamaha yzf r1 transmissions have faulty 2nd gears which will "slip" while accelerating, or outright becomes useless causing the rider to skip 2nd gear all together and go straight to 3rd gear. this is dangerous in situations where it's necessary to accelerate to the flow of traffic and the torque curve is interrupted because of the slipping or the skip to 3rd gear which has to be done with great care and thought. yamaha will not cover this repair under warranty because they claim it's caused by abuse by the rider. *nm |
