| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Tl* - the contact called regarding the 2000 chevrolet silverado. the contact received recall 06v06600 for his tailgate hinges. the contact stated that the dealer was only willing to replace the tailgate support cable, but the tailgate hinges rusted and should be replaced as well. according to the recall, the hinges were to be inspected and replaced if necessary. before he received the recall letter the tailgate came off because only one cable hinge was holding the tailgate and this caused damage to the bumper. the failure mileage was 73,000, and the current mileage was 137,000.*ak |
